A husband and a father of five children, Dawood has been diabetic for over 25 years which caused his kidneys function to decline until he eventually had to start dialysis in 2017.

Swati’s story – From feeling scared to feeling hopeful and confident in the dialysis treatment plan
At just the age of 26, when Swati was living in India, she was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease. She had to start dialysis because her weight was dropping, and toxins started building up in her body. Unfortunately, her first experience with dialysis wasn’t positive and this made her hesitant to commit to doing dialysis regularly.

Joseph's story - Enjoying life again
Before commencing dialysis in 2007, Joseph’s health and emotional well-being were declining. However, his life changed for the better once he started dialysis.
Today, he feels more energetic, healthier, is able to go back to work. Being on dialysis hasn’t stopped Joseph from travelling and enjoying holidays with his family.

Mdm Teoh’s story – keep living a happy life
Madam Teoh lives with peritoneal dialysis (PD) in Singapore. Since commencing PD in 2013, she says her lifestyle has not been greatly affected and gives the advice: "Just be happy and continue with your lifestyle."
Today, she continues her active daily routine, just as she did before her diagnosis of kidney failure.
